Creating Powerful and Unique Experiences for Institutions and Individuals

Custom Programs Designed to Educate, Connect, and Inspire

Art has the invaluable ability to transform and connect, and my work as a creator and educator is dedicated to weaving people and ideas together. From creating immersive installations to facilitating collaborative workshops, I use Indigenous traditions to catalyze connection between people, their communities and their history.

I tailor each of my programs specifically to the needs and size of your group or organization. Some themes I’ve spoken about and conducted interactive workshops on include historical connection, workplace diversity, patchwork, land acknowledgement, up-cycling, and more.

I call on the many layers of my identity—artist, educator, Yamassee Yat’siminoli, African American, community and cultural practitioner, healer—to facilitate potent, transformative experiences that retain the indelible marks of the diverse elements and individuals that came together to create them.

Previous participants have told me that my warm personality and open, welcoming style engender a productive space for exploration and connection.

Previous Programs

“Make Happy, Be Happy Day” Workshop,
GODIVA Chocolatier’s New York City Headquarters

Award-winning public arts curator Debra Simon invited me to lead a group of GODIVA’s chocolatiers in a collaborative workshop as part of their annual “Make Happy, Be Happy Day” celebrations.

Debra led an inspiring discussion on “How Creativity Drives Ingenuity In Business,” which was followed by my hands-on collaborative collage-making workshop. We repurposed vintage GODIVA packaging into new works of art. The final piece, shown here, was a compilation of mini-collages created by the participants.

Gallery Talk and Art Workshop,
Wave Hill Public Garden, New York City

During the closing weekend of the exhibition What We Leave Behind, I took part in a gallery walkthrough discussing how my work with discarded materials speaks to the connections between past and present as well as personal and collective histories.

Following the talk, I led a hands-on workshop during which we focused on the significance of walking sticks in Indigenous cultures. Participants embellished their own using beads, feathers, shells and recycled materials.

Mixed-Media Project Workshop,
Visual Arts Center of New Jersey

During my tenure as the Art Educator in Residence at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey, I hosted a number of creative workshops and events open to the public.

In the workshop pictured, I invited participants to focus on the present moment to inspire new ideas about their personal history and storytelling. Each participant built and blended multiple layers to create an original artwork, making connections to personal goals, gratitude, and new outlooks for the year.

Let’s Collaborate

Each experience I curate purposefully fosters discovery, appreciation, understanding and respect, leaving participants with renewed capacity for engagement and connection. All of these qualities are deeply important to relationships with self, family, colleagues and community.
